I am a Professor of Biology at the University of Central Oklahoma and the Coordinator of the Secondary Science Education Program. I serve as the Director of the Central Oklahoma Regional Science Fair and the Director of the Statewide Science Olympiad competition. I have developed and taught on-line, blended, and face-to-face courses in both Biology and Science Teaching Methodology. Before returning to Oklahoma in 2005, I was the Director of the Western Carolina Center for Mathematics and Science Education, a part of the North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network. I have been a classroom teacher in Oklahoma, California, and North Carolina.
I have served as President of both the National Science Education Leadership Association and the Oklahoma Science Teachers Association. Currently, I serve as the College Division Director (2016-2019) for the National Science Teachers Association.
